1.10 The Part You’ve Been Waiting For

Despite her feelings that night with Alec at the bar –the night she almost kissed him– Trella decided to accept their friendship as just a friendship. Her and Alec had chemistry, there was no doubting that. They talked for hours about anything and everything.

When he visited, he was so kind to Nat, and the three of them loved watching scary movies together.

When she visited his house, he would barbecue and teach her to play poker. She might have hinted at playing strip poker once but of course he turned it down. What a prude!

Trella was also doing well in her career and had a feeling she was about to earn a promotion to Senior Manager! But we all know work is boring and you’re here for the romance. 😉

One day Alec called her and asked if she wanted to explore the bluffs in Windenburg. She laughed, thinking he was joking. Wasn’t that where teenagers went to party and stuff? But he was dead serious and said the stars looked amazing out there.

That night Trella met Alec at the bluffs. Sure enough, the stars were incredible! How had she never come here before? The whole place felt magical.

As the night got darker and cooler, a gentle mist started to flow in. She thought they should leave soon but then Alec jumped up and told her he wanted to swim in the springs. Was he crazy? Wasn’t it cold? But he stripped off his clothes and jumped right into the water, butt-ass naked!

She stood there stunned for a moment, reveling in the brief glimpse she got of his gloriously muscled body. Not one to be outdone, she impulsively stripped as well and jumped in after him! The water was surprisingly warm. This was wonderful! As they were playfully splashing each other, Alec’s face went from laughing to serious, and he caressed her cheek.

Trella: What are you doing? You’re confusing me Alec, I don’t know how to act around you any more. This is too hard, I shouldn’t have come here.
Alec: Wait! Trella. Hear me out. I’ve wanted you from the first day I saw you in the gym.
Trella: Wh- What?!! Then why did you never say anything? You HAVE to know I have feelings for you. I practically throw myself at you and even though you repeatedly turn me down, I can’t stay away from you! Why have you led me on, all these months?!
Alec: I’m really sorry you felt like I was leading you on. Honestly, when you told me about your divorce, I knew you needed time to heal. I didn’t want to be a rebound. I was SO into you that I wanted to make sure you felt the same, and not just because you were getting over a divorce.
Trella: I, I’m not sure what to say…

At that moment he pulled her into him… and kissed her.
