One day at the gym Trella was giving Alec the cold shoulder. She was frustrated that he always talked with her and seemed so interested in her, but pretended he didn’t notice her flirting. As she was getting ready to leave, he stopped her. Her heart did a flutter…

Alec: What’s the easiest way to get a six-pack at the gym?
Trella: *disappointedly rolling her eyes* Ummmm…
Alec: Grab the beer from your fridge and smuggle it in, hahahaha. Speaking of beer, would you like to grab one with me some time?
He was always making her laugh so she couldn’t help but say yes!

With high hopes that hanging outside of the gym would change his demeanor, Trella had a good feeling about the night. They were talking so non-stop that they were barely touching their drinks. This felt right, this felt good. She loved Alec’s company!
At one point Alec leaned in close to tell a story, lightly resting his hand on her thigh. She had soooo many butterflies! He HAD to be interested in her. Who touches a woman’s thigh if he’s not attracted to her? As he finished his story, she knew the moment was right. She leaned over to kiss him, but the second before she could, her phone rang.
Seriously?!!
It was her niece Natalia (remember Tristan’s oldest kid?).

Trella: Hi Nat, why are you calling so late? Shouldn’t you be in bed??
Natalia: Aunt Trella, I just can’t live here anymore! The babies are always crying and I want my own room and dad never listens to me and mom is so strict! *sobbing dramatically* We just had a fight and can I pleeeeease stay with you?
Trella: Hey slow down, slow down, dear. I hear you. I’ll come over and talk with your parents. Let’s see what we can work out.
Natalia: Thank you Auntie, I love you so much! Please come get me!
Trella: Sit tight and try to calm yourself down. I’ll be there soon. I love you.

Trella was SO bummed but she told Alec she had to go. Maybe this was the universe telling her she should accept their friendship for what it was… just a friendship.
